New members continued to join Leigh Community Choir as we headed into a new year of singing in September, boosting our number on roll to 60+.  New songs were added to the reperoire too, including 'Tell Me It's Not True' from the musical Blood Brothers, and the Take That classic, 'The Flood'.

Leigh Community Choir performed at two important events in November.  First up was the Frost Festival/ Light Up Leigh event organised by Wigan Council.  We performed a 20 minute set on Spinnigate car park, entertaining stall holders and shoppers who had gathered for the early entertainment before the parade.

On 25th November, we were privileged to be asked by Soroptimist Internation Leigh & District to support the 'Orange The World' event at Leigh Parish Church.  The service marked International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.  Other performers on the night included The Paperback Writers, The Wordsmiths and Corrie Shelley.  The display of orange flowers represented the number of cases of domestic violence reported each day in England and Wales.

We were very pleased with our first public performance of Sam Smith's 'Writing's On The Wall'.  It was partcularly effective in the church acoustics.
